Relationships bind us

I have been thinking a lot about relationships in the past week. It has come up a lot in my thinking because so many things have happened in the past week prompting this. Our business in Belgium have been nominated for a prestigious award. We have launched a series of podcasts this week on the future of work which features prominent business leaders from blue chip brands and public sector organisations. We have spoken on panels with other industry leaders, written articles, been interviewed to tap into our thought leadership. We have been invited to participate in tender processes by companies around the world who value our work. The Managing Director reports have been arriving in my inbox this week from around the world. They are full of stories of the many opportunities we have pursued and won, with so many great business brands represented.

As I have reflected on all of these it occurred to me that what enabled all of these things to happen is that over time we have invested heavily in building strong relationships. Some of these relationships go back many years. We will all have our stories about how we first met a client and got to know them, built up trust and never failed to live up to this. The combination of all of these relationships with so many clients is what fundamentally builds our reputation, wherever we are in the world. It’s why high-profile industry leaders happily accept our requests to participate in podcasts, placing their reputation alongside ours. It’s why we get nominated for awards, and get asked to participate in tenders and it’s why we get to work with clients for so many years.

So, as we work towards the close of another successful week in the Harvey Nash Group we should celebrate the strength of the relationships we have built with each other, our clients, candidates and contractors. This is the golden thread that binds us.
