Let’s talk
Keeping connected, sharing ideas, collaborating, are all essential ingredients for a healthy business no matter what is going on in the world. This past week we have turned up the dial and hosted 12 multi-country, multi-business virtual round tables with the senior leaders across the group.
The single purpose of these 1 hour meetings was to ask ourselves the question “how can we make these great businesses, this great Group, even better?” In laying that question on the table what followed was a lot of sharing, exploring, listening, learning, being curious, daring to dream.
Every one of these meetings generated a wealth of ideas and it became very clear how valuable more collaboration would be across the Group because there were so many situations where you had to ask ‘why wouldn’t you?’
Why wouldn’t you want to help your client solve their wider business issues through introducing another a part of the Group to them, instead of letting that client going to a competitor?
Why wouldn’t you want to impress your clients with bringing them solutions that help them thrive in these turbulent times and in doing so get even closer to them?
Why wouldn’t you want people from within our group to bring you opportunities with companies who already work with us and admire and value the service they get?
We talked about our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion. We talked about how we have some way to go before we can look around our businesses and know that we are truly representative of the clients we serve and the communities we live and work in. There is no question that we are some way before we can look at ourselves in the mirror and know that equality and inclusion is in our DNA. This has to be our daily quest.
These conversations yielded so much and were spoken with honesty and integrity. We have listened to and heard what has been shared.
Now we will reflect and come back to share the how and the when. This is the beginning of ‘the great conversations’ and the much valued time together has been an investment not a cost.
I am so heartened by the scale of collaboration going on from country to country, business to business.
The opportunities being generated in this way are escalating. We are stronger together.
