Inspiration
Have you ever had a time when a word jumps into your head and stays there, even many days later? Well, the word that has stayed with me throughout the week is ‘inspiration’. The word inspiration literally means to breathe life into.
So, where did that feeling come from?
Over the last few weeks I have been inspired by the visits (virutally of course) I’ve made to team meetings across the world. Last Friday I joined Andy Heyes and his London team for their regular meeting. Every leader spoke so positively about their team’s performance and motivation, and the rise in the number of opportunities. I came away from this feeling full of energy, confidence and optimism.
This week I have joined Switzerland, Germany and Spinks, Poland, Scotland and the USA Samsung team virtual meetings. I heard each colleague speak with pride about their colleagues’ work, how they are adapting and learning to thrive in this now familiar virtual way of working.
What really struck me is that we are the ‘Apple’ of recruiting. What do I mean by that? For me Apple is never content to ‘just be’ - they strive in everything they do to constantly be better tomorrow than they are today.
The customer experience is paramount and they act together, respecting each other’s talents and cheering on their colleagues’ achievements. The services they deliver are for me exemplary. So, that is why I think we are the ‘Apple’ of recruitment.
This week I have, like many of us, reflected back on our past year as we draw the financial year to a close. We have achieved so much together. I am so proud to be part of the Harvey Nash Group. We start the new year Kick Offs in the next weeks in many of our businesses and countries and I know we will take the time to look back with pride on all that has been achieved together. I am looking forward to this time together.
Thank you to everyone and all that you have done to support colleagues, to grow and sustain the businesses through the sheer quality of our work and the many acts of kindness that I see often quietly happening.
We go into the new year with our heads held high and with confidence that whatever is ahead of us we are equipped to thrive. Our pipelines are strong, we have great people in our businesses across the world. Happy New (financial) Year to everyone!
